Sewing Bootcamp

It really happened! I went to a sewing class! Between us gals, you should know that the original name for this blog was "Thread & Butter" -- I would write about my sewing adventures and Rosh would write about her cooking ones.  But then we decided that the likelihood of my actually learning to sew and then incorporating that skill into my every day life was pretty low and how could we base an entire 50% of a blog name on that?  Far too risky.

Anyway, not only did I go to a sewing class, but I went to a SEVEN HOUR sewing "bootcamp." Please note that when I woke up on Sunday, mildly to middlingly hungover, I cursed myself repeatedly for signing myself up for this class.  Who exactly did I think I was?  Some kind of person who "does things"?  Who has "hobbies" and "interests"?  Gross.  But the class was pretty sweet.  Maybe I like doing things?  I would prefer not to be hungover while doing them, but I guess I can't blame that completely on sewing.

Look at this shit I made!  What is happening?  How did we all get transported to an Urban Outfitters retail location?

Holy crap it's a tote! And a card case! And a zipper pouch thingy.
After the class, all I wanted to do was collapse on my couch and eat many pizzas.  But I'd already made plans to meet up with my friend Nate and walk around Bernal Heights Park.  I was exhausted but I went and met him anyway because I'm a goddamn grown-up and if we make plans, I will not flake.  Unless I met you on Tinder, in which case I will unapologetically cancel our date an hour beforehand with no remorse.

It's very pretty up here.  I don't know who those people are,
but they seem to be having a nice little chat.
Then we went and got dinner and came back to my place to watch GoT with Rosh and Dan.  I don't have any pictures of that because that would be weird.

First.

Editor’s Note: This is not technically the first post because originally we started here. But tumblr sucks for group blogging. When did that chicken-cheese video get posted? We need to align our publication processes.

This blog is intended to kickstart a phase of creative mania the likes of which have never been seen.  It will also serve as yet another platform for me to communicate with Commissioner Rosh Hashanah because email/text/gchat just isn’t enough.

Here are some updates:
  • Rosh took a bunch of cooking classes!  She hasn’t posted anything about them even though that’s sort of the entire (half) point of this cross-country blog.  But I did see pictures, and she seems to know what she’s doing!
  • I signed up for a sewing class! But then I re-scheduled it because Rosh came to SF.  But I’m going to go in 2 weeks and sit in a room and sew from 11am to 6pm which in retrospect seems like it might be a terrible idea!
  • I woke up at 6am to finish something for work but now I'm probably going to be late because I've been dicking around on here. #blogface
